How to interview and work with various professionals

A primary goal of DivorceChoice.com is to give you the best possible information about the alternatives and professionals that can be the most help to you. It is our hope that, when you have fully reviewed this site, you will be in an excellent position to make choices that will spare you the anguish and expense that can cause unnecessary damage to you and your family.

While we believe that providing information to you through this website can be invaluable in helping you make the best choices, we do not believe that choices of this importance should be made on written information alone.  In order for you to find the right professionals, it is always helpful, and often essential, for you to meet and interview the professionals you are considering hiring. In addition, once you have hired a professional, it is important that you are able to maintain a good working relationship with that person throughout the process.

The purpose of this section is to help you select and interview the professionals that you believe can best help you and to help you form a good working relationship with that professional once the process begins.

While much of the information provided here would work with almost any professionals, there are different considerations to be made when working with attorneys, mediators, therapists and financial neutrals. Therefore we have separated this section into the following categories:

If you have already determined the type or types of professionals that you wish to hire, click on the appropriate icon to find out how to choose and work with professionals in that category. If you have been unable to determine the type of professionals that can best help you, please review our section on alternatives available.
